Travellers' Tales

The next edition of Travellers' Tales should be published in February 2009

Repainting of '53 had been deferred until March/April 2008 to allow for the improvements in ambient temperatures needed to achieve a good finish. However the availability of work for the locomotive has meant that earning its keep has taken priority. A charter in June was booked on the condition that the livery was as existing and so the painting was further deferred.

Subsequently two further charters were booked on the same basis with a further charter having been booked in February 2009. The earliest date we are likely to be able to gain access to the goods shed at Swanage is now 1 April 2009. Preparation for the repainting will be ongoing from 1 March 2009.

Do you have a skill to offer?

One of our members, Clive Walker, has kindly offered to do technical drawings for DLL and has already completed several. These are the necessary precursor to the production of patterns.
